Was at Becky's WAITING and said let's get out of here.Came to Andy's and everything was perfect from blueberry pancake, Andy's famous hash and eggs cooked perfectly. No need to ever go anywhere else. When back in Portland, this is the bfast spot.People friendly and meal was great n prices reasonable.
MoreGood food and great service!
Update:I've slowly become disappointed with Uncle Andy's after a few visits. If the breakfast isn't a special it is rather mediocre. Service has become slow, tables remain unturned for a while. Good first impression but did not hold up to expectations. Adorable diner nestled in between buildings, across from a beautiful park. Atmosphere is fun and light hearted. This is clearly a family run business. If you sit at the half oval bar you can watch your breakfast getting cooked through the windows. Most important, the breakfast is very tasty. Had the sausage gravy over biscuits special and it was very fresh, highly recommend. Home fries were well seasoned and perfectly cooked..
MoreI only got to eat here once. The food was pretty good along with plenty of smiles. If your near you should try them.
MoreExcellent French toast! I would highly recommend Uncle Andy's diner for breakfast.
MoreDecent Breakfast..hometown atmosphere
good food, cheap prices, friendly and relaxed atmosphere
Good food at good prices. Real down home feel
Delicious homestyle breakfast in sophisticated east Portland. Old fashioned menu and lots of hot coffee for those chilly Maine mornings!
MoreAbsolutely the most fantastic food, atmosphere, and prices. The owner came to our table and checked on us. Could not believe how inexpensive the meals were. I recommend to anyone, GO THERE! You will love it.
MoreWent for breakfast for the first time today. The place was empty at 7:30! We were excited after seeing the renovations on a recent episode of Restaurants Impossible. Sorry to say the place was filthy. Left over food on the table and on the salt and pepper shakers - even the menus were food stained!! We almost left before we ordered but decided to give it a shot. The food was ok yet not hot. Had to ask for coffee refills a few times. Sorry to say we won’t go back😔
MoreBreakfast was pretty good. Classic diner food. Service was fairly slow, seemed understaffed? Overall a good experience.
MoreGreat food cook knows how to cook eggs,, or. Not burnt
No frills breakfast--just the way i like it !
Husband ordered breakfast food that was pretty good. I ordered the grilled honey dijon chicken sandwich which was really gross. They use chicken thighs that had a lot of skin on them and was a weird texture. Didn't eat the sandwich and stole husband's pancakes. If we go back will only order breakfast foods.
MoreKids love coming here for their kids surprise pancakes!!! Such a great meal and filling and great prices!!
MoreExcellent "go to" place for Breakfast and or Lunch. Will drive out my way to frequent Uncle Andy's. Good food, Atmosphere & Service
MoreService was great and breakfast was amazing
Good old Mom and Pop, no frills, and good eats!
Good food and nice people
Lovely lunch. Customer service and food excellent. Clean. Remodeled by TV show "Restaurant Impossible".
MoreA South Portland favorite Diner, I have enjoyed going to Andy's for year's, they are both family and great breakfasts , plus the coffee is always fresh and smells good, if u want a great breakfast go check them out , your stomach will love you.😁😁👍❤❤
MoreGreat inexpensive neighborhood diner. Friendly and good food.
Quick, hot and tasty. What more can you ask for?
Great Food and nice people
Super nice friendly service. My kids loved the fun pancakes and silly jokes.
Food really good friendly people food is usually right of the grill.
I just went to breakfast with my husband for the first time. Rug when you enter was full of dirt, don't know when it was vacuumed last. Coffee was warm got no refills, food was warm not hot. The top of the sugar container was dirty along with the salt and paper shakers. Food on top of the napkin holder on our table. These are the simple fixes in any diner. Wipe down everything when you close and vacuum your rugs. I do not know why the food was warm, but that also is a easy fix. Take pride in what was done with the diner it holds many good memories for the older generation. I wish you all the best of luck with your business.
MoreGood coffee, Cool atmosphere. Small portions, kinda expensive.
Been here longer than I. Walk in and they make you feel like family. My grandson loves the pancakes. They could be Mickey Mouse or maybe a hippopotamus the next time. But each time, they disappear quickly.
MoreThe food was sub-par and the food was not cooked to order. The staff was pleasant, however, that unfortunately was not enough to make up for the flavorless, uncooked/over cooked food. I don't wish to waste any time, so I will spare the details. I wouldn't recommend eating here.....
MoreYour kids will love it.
Good old style diner, not many of these left in southern Maine. Rough around the edges but who cares about the edges, food is fine and service is familiar.
MoreI just love this place. Breakfast is my favorite here.
Took my nephew out for breakfast. He loved his "kids surprise pancake"! The staff was friendly and playful with him and the food was delicious!
MoreIt's not Uncle Andy's Diner. It's their next door neighbor Teryiaki Exchange. The food is good, fresh, well prepared, and reasonably priced. The environment could be more cheerful but you can order hot saki with your meal.Service is soberly efficient but never rude.
MoreGreat service and the food was delicious. Great job!!
Great diner breakfast food
Coffee served in the complement cup of a Janitorial Service. Why so desperate for free cups of businesses elsewhere. Not appetizing to see that sit across your food. Service was okay. Food quantity justifies what you pay.
MoreIt's a convenient little spot, prices are reasonable, food is good and the owner is very friendly. However, this place has progressively gone downhill as far as cleanliness. The floors and windows are filthy and the bathrooms areas well. Neither look like they have been cleaned in a long time.
MoreCozy little family owned spot. Loved the family vibes and cook came out to make sure the food was tasty. Don’t pass up the pancakes.
MoreExcellent food made with fresh ingredients, excellent service, reasonable prices.
MoreDennis is incredible! They provide amazing service, always very attentive and prompt! This is by far my favorite diner. I could come here every day!
MoreGood food, good prices and fast friendly service!
Great place to bring the kids. The food is great and they have an assortment of toys to keep the kids busy!
MoreThis is the best diner in the portland area, I strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a great meal. The customer service was amazing and the price was equally impressive. Thanks uncle andy
MoreMy fiancé and I were looking for a quick place to grab a bite to eat while in the area for an event for the weekend. When we came in we were greeted wonderfully by the owner. The staff and service were fast and extremely friendly. The food is delicious and great prices! I would highly recommend this place as a great place for breakfast or lunch. The owner is a friendly guy with a good sense of humor :) we will definitely be back when in the area!
MoreAwesome place to take young children for a diner experience. The children's "Animal surprise pancake" is a lot of fun, and can be anything from a puppydog, to a penguin on a skateboard. Dennis's playful sleight-of-hand tricks are one of my childrens' favorite reasons for coming here! This is the kind of place that a tired parent can show up and, without a word being spoken, be headed a cup of coffee while their children are given some toys to play with and they take a breath for a moment. Truly a gem.
MoreThis place has been in business at the same location for around 50 years. Well known to the locals and old timers, it doesn't seem to attract a lot of tourist / traveler type business. Parking on the side lot is easy in and out. The dining areas booths, tables, and bar are dated - not nostalgic. It's not very bright both in lighting and decor. If you visit it will be clear who the regulars are, they and the staff are friendly and helpful.I recommendwhat ever the special is that day.
MoreDecent breakfast place. Too many dirty tables though.
